The 2008 is Peugeot’s stylish compact SUV that offers a great all-round package. Engines-wise you get a choice of a petrol engine, a self-charging hybrid if you want to dip your toe into electric car market for the first time or a full electric model (badged as the E-2008) with a range of up to 250 miles.
The 2008 model is available with a petrol or hybrid engine. The 136 bhp hybrid comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and it can deliver up to 62mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 102g/km. If you are doing a lot of around town driving at lower speeds, you should get great fuel economy.
The 130bhp petrol engine is available with either 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The manual petrol models are potentially a tad more economical with fuel economy up to 47mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 123g/km.
The 2008 is available in three trim-levels the Allure, GT and GT Premium.
The entry-level Allure comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, auto dimming rear view mirror, a 10-inch digital driver display and 10-inch infotainment screen, for smartphone integration wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available.
Driver assistance features include front and rear parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter, lane keeping assist technology, speed limit recognition, driver attention warning and ‘Active Safety Brake’ which is Peugeot’s automatic emergency braking system that can apply the brakes automatically to avoid a collision.
The GT model adds a contract black ‘Diamond’ roof to the exterior look, full HD headlights with Smartbeam assist (automatic high beam). Additional driver assistance features include a reversing camera.
Inside the instrument panel is upgraded to Peugeot’s 10-inch 3D ‘i-Cockpit’ instrument panel, the state-of-the-art display uses a projection effect making the display appear closer to the driver. There’s also 8-colour configurable ambient lighting, keyless entry/engine start and dashes of GT branding including a leather steering wheel with GT logo.
The GT Premium model builds on the GT with some additional luxury/comfort and additional driver assistance.
Alloy wheels are upgraded to larger 18-inch ones and inside cloth interior is upgraded to Alcantara. For additional comfort the front seats have a heating function and the driver seat additionally a massage function. Inside you’ll find integrated sat nav and wireless charger for smartphones.
Additional driver assistance features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The full electric 2008 model badged the E-2008 comes with a choice of two electric powertrains. There’s a 136bhp options with 50kWh battery that can deliver a range of up to 212 miles or a punchier 156bhp with a 54kWh battery offering a longer range of up to 247 miles according to Peugeot’s official figures.
Both options offer rapid charging so you can get from 20-80% charge in 25-30 minutes. If you have a 7kW home charger it should take around 7.5 hours to get a full charge, perfect for overnight.
The E-2008 gets the same three trim-levels as the 2008 (Allure, GT and GT Premium). In terms of standard equipment, the E-2008 electric models pretty much mirror the 2008 models.
