The 2026 Ford Puma Gen-E is here with more range, improved tech and refreshed styling.
Ford’s all-electric Puma Gen-E has received a series of meaningful updates that strengthen its appeal as a practical, stylish and more capable compact crossover.
With an improved range of up to 259 miles on a full charge and an innovative GigaBox that lifts total boot storage to 574 litres and new tech, there's a lot to like.
These refinements and upgrades arrive as the wider Puma range continues to be exceptionally popular with British buyers, building on the model’s reputation for combining crossover practicality with a distinctive, fun-to-drive character, the range has something for just about everybody.
An optimised battery design is the standout technical change, extending the WLTP range to a maximum of 259 miles. That extra capability should ease range anxiety for drivers covering longer motorway stretches or long drives stuck in heavy trafic.
Storage remains one of the Gen-E’s cleverest features. The GigaBox under-floor compartment provides 145 litres of flexible space — enough for two carry-on suitcases or a folded pushchair bringing the total load volume up to 574 litres. The Gigabox also features waterproof lining and a drainage plug making it great for active outdoor people, watersports, muddy/wet items etc.
For the first time on the Gen-E, Ford’s BlueCruise system is available (subscription may be required). This “hands-off, eyes-on” technology works in designated Blue Zones on UK motorways. It combines Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, camera systems and other tech to manage steering, acceleration, braking and lane position, aiming to ease fatigue on longer journeys.
The dedicated Puma Gen-E BlueCruise Edition makes the technology especially accessible for those who are not a fan of subscriptions, unlocking BlueCruise as a one-time purchase with no ongoing payments required. It also includes subscription-free Connected Navigation that uses cloud-based data for real-time traffic updates.
The Gen-E Black Edition adds visual drama with Azura Blue paint, a contrasting black roof and door mirror caps, plus 18-inch Asphalt Black Matt alloy wheels. Inside, a darker cabin theme is lifted by Candy Blue stitching across the seats, doors and dashboard, complemented by unique scuff plates. Dynamic Matrix LED headlights with Glare-Free High Beam and Predictive Dynamic Bending Light come as standard.
The BlueCruise Edition takes a different route, featuring exclusive Vapor Blue exterior paint, a black roof and mirror caps, and unique black-painted 18-inch alloys. Embossed seat inserts and Nordic Blue detailing finish the cabin.
A new Cactus Grey exterior colour option has also been added to the range, giving buyers further choice beyond the established palette.
For audiophiles, the Bang & Olufsen premium audio system has been improved, with power increased to 650 W and higher-spec mid-woofers in the front doors for clearer, more refined sound. Premium Connectivity and Connected Navigation options expand the digital experience, supporting streaming, real-time traffic data to avoid back spots and other connected services.
These updates improve the Puma Gen-E’s appeal as a distinctive electric alternative in the competitive small-SUV segment. Improved range, clever storage, hands-free motorway assistance and sharper styling combined with great fun to drive appeal of one of the UK’s most popular new cars
With the latest versions available to order, the refreshed Puma Gen-E offers a more complete package for those seeking an electric crossover that remains fun to drive, whilst delivering cutting edge tech and practical features.
