2026 MG HS Models Compared

The MG HS is a spacious mid-sized SUV which can be had with either a petrol, Hybrid+ (a full self-charging hybrid) or plug-in hybrid powertrains. The line-up is a simple affair with two main trims, the SE and Trophy.

Standard across the range are dual 12.3-inch displays (infotainment and driver display), MG's Pilot safety suite, LED headlights, 19-inch alloys and a generous 7-year / 80,000-mile warranty. The PHEV version shines on low running costs offering up to 75 miles of electric range, a good option for high mileage users.

MG HS SE (Entry-Level)

Available Engines:

• 1.5 T-GDI petrol (169 PS / 275 Nm) with 6-speed manual – 0-62 mph in 9.4 seconds, WLTP combined 38.1–38.2 mpg, CO₂ 168 g/km; its also available with 7-speed DCT automatic.
• Hybrid+ (224 PS) is noticeably nippier, offering 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds, WLTP combined fuel economy is as high as 51.3 mpg, and CO₂ emissions as low as126 g/km.
• PHEV (up to 299 PS combined with a 24.7 kWh battery), its slightly nippier than Hybrid+ with 0-62 mph in 6.8 seconds, WLTP weighted combined fuel economy is up to 705 mpg, and CO₂ emissions as low as 12 g/km, electric-only range is up to 75 miles.
• Exterior Features: 19-inch diamond-cut alloys, bi-function LED headlights, rear privacy glass, roof rails.
• Interior Features: Cloth or synthetic upholstery, 12.3-inch dual floating screens with navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, air-cong, keyless entry.
• Driver Assistance & Safety Technology: MG Pilot (adaptive cruise with speed-limit assist on auto, active emergency braking with pedestrian/cyclist detection, lane-keep assist, blind-zone detection, rear cross-traffic alert).

Trophy (Top Spec)

The MG HS offers excellent standard equipment even at SE level, with Trophy adding the  luxury touches and additional comfort. The petrol models are the cheapest but running costs can be higher, the Hybrid+ delivers strong efficiency (51.3 mpg combined, 126 g/km CO₂), while the PHEV stands out with punchy acceleration (0-62 mph in 6.8 seconds) and a competitive 75-mile electric range alongside very low official weighted emissions (12 g/km).
