  3. Comparing the 2026 Hyundai Kona Trim Levels

2026 Hyundai Kona Trim Levels Comparison

The Kona is Hyundai’s compact Crossover SUV offered with a choice of petrol, self-charging hybrid or full-electric  powertrains.

There are four trim levels starting with entry-level Advance, the sportier N Line and N Line S variants and the top-spec Ultimate.

Standard across the range are dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays (digital driver cluster + touchscreen infotainment system), smartphone integration includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone, Hyundai’s Bluelink connected services, and the comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense safety and driver assistance suite.

EV models feature up to 19-inch alloy wheels, hybrid models generally come with 18-inch wheels as standard, while petrol models get 17-inch alloys.

Powertrains available across the range typically include a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol (around 115 PS), a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol (around 150 PS), and a 1.6-litre hybrid (system output around 138 PS). The EV models (badged Kona EV) have a WLTP driving range of 234 to 319 miles.

The Following is a breakdown of the petrol and hybrid models, although specs and equipment-wise the EV models are very similar with differences between petrol/hybrid and the electric models being mainly aesthetics and materials.

Advance (Entry-Level Model)

2026 Hyundai Kona AdvanceThe entry-level Kona Advance offers a very solid set of standard features.

Available Engines

  • 1.0 T-GDi petrol (115 PS) with 6-speed manual: 0-62 mph in approximately 11.9 seconds, combined economy around 47.9 mpg (WLTP), CO₂ emissions around 133 g/km.
  • 1.6 T-GDi petrol (around 150 PS) with 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT): 0-62 mph in around 9.8 seconds (manual) or slightly quicker with DCT, combined economy around 44 mpg (WLTP), CO₂ emissions around 144–146 g/km.
  • 1.6 hybrid (system output around 138 PS) with 6-speed DCT: 0-62 mph in around 11.0 seconds, combined economy around 60.1 mpg (WLTP), CO₂ emissions around 107 g/km.

The self-charging hybrid is the stand-out option for efficiency, while the 1.6 petrol offers the strongest outright performance.
