Nissan has released details of new/updated 2026 X-Trail, the large SUV is celebrating its 25th year should be able around Springtime.
Nissan describe the latest model as “tougher and more connected”.
The refreshed family SUV brings bolder styling, premium cabin upgrades, refined connectivity and advanced driver assistance/safety tech.
As with the outgoing model, the 2026 edition will be powered by Nissan’s unique e-Power hybrid system that delivers a full electric driving experience without the need to ‘plug-in’.
If you are looking for 4WD, the dual motor version of the engine called e-4ORCE is available.
The 2026 X-Trail looks more refined than its predecessor.
The V-Motion grille is wider and gloss black finishes on the lower bumpers, wheel arches, side sills and door mirrors look smart.
At the rear, the 2026 X-Trail sports new full-LED lights.
New paint colours are available: Sukomo Blue and Coastal Dune, with eye-catching contrasting roof options available.
The rugged N-Trek trim-level is making a return with black roof rails and additional lower-body protection.
Higher grade models will get up to 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside the new 2026 Nissan X-trail feels noticeably more upmarket.
There is synthetic leather or a new luxurious ‘chestnut-brown’ quilted leather upholstery and wood effect trim gives the interior a premium look.
The X-Trail is a large family SUV that can be had with 5 or 7 seats, with the 40/20/40 sliding second-row seats making it simple to switch between five or seven seat layouts or to maximise boot space.
As you move up the model range extra comfort is offered with features like heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and three-zone climate control come as standard.
Higher grade models will feature twin 12.3-inch screens (driver display and infotainment screen), top spec models with also get a head-up display.
The infotainment system will include features like wire Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, built-in Google Maps and Google Voice Assistant.
The N-Trek trim, a more rugged/practical model offers features like waterproof CellCloth® upholstery and rubber mats, perfect for more rural buyers, people with pets etc.
Higher grade models get a panoramic sunroof as standard, while top-spec models get the addition of a premium BOSE audio system.
Safety tech has been enhanced with the latest ProPILOT Assist system. It includes better lane-keeping, more natural braking and acceleration, and improved traffic-sign recognition.
The stand-out feature is the new/upgraded 3D Around View Monitor; eight cameras deliver a crystal-clear view showing more angles and better overall views for things like tight parking spaces.
Powered by Nissan’s clever e-POWER hybrid technology, where the 1.5-litre petrol engine works purely as a generator to charge the battery that drives the wheels via electric motors. The result is smooth, responsive acceleration with the quiet, instant torque of a full electric car.
The front-wheel-drive version produces 204 hp, offers a fuel economy of 49.6 mpg (WLTP combined) and emits around 128 g/km CO2.
The e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system offers 213 hp, capable of 0-60mph in a tad under 7-seconds.
You get the obvious benefits of an AWD system, stronger traction & better capabilities in more demanding driving conditions.
With a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg, the X-Trail remains a great option for caravans or trailers.
