Mazda’s CX-5 is set to hit UK showrooms in the second half of 2025, the mid-sized SUV will see new interior tech, improved interior build quality and Google Built In as standard on all models for the first time.
One of the key features on the CX-5 inside is Mazda’s HMI (Human Machine Interface), the philosophy is to make controlling and viewing information as intuitive as possible, minimising distractions and promoting safe driving.
The HMI systems combines a large touchscreen infotainment, 12.9-inch or 15-inch screen on higher grade models with a 10.25-inch digital driver display and head-up display. The system, comes with Google Built-in, at launch voice control will be available with Mazda promising an over the air update to ad Google Gemini AI.
Despite the large touchscreen, Mazda’s philosophy means there are still some physical controls for key functions, these are positioned to minimise distractions while voice control enables the driver to control frequently used features like navigation, heating, air con, play music and make handsfree calls.
The infotainment system features integrated navigation, but you can also use your favourite smartphone navigation as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. A premium 12-speak Bose sound system will also be available as an option for audiophiles.
Over the air updates means the system infotainment platform and driver assistance features can be further improved and updated over time.
The CX-5 will be powered by Mazda’s latest 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G petrol engine Mazda M Hybrid technology (mild hybrid).
